Free reel checker
Free Reel Virality Checker for Instagram Reels
Most virality tools grade a reel after it has already flopped. This one watches your draft before anyone else sees it.
In one line
A reel virality checker scores a reel before you post it. GroReel's checker watches your draft (the video itself, not your stats) and gives you a 0–100 virality score, a straight call (post it, or fix it first) and the fixes that move the score most, in order. Your first check is free.
What one check gives you
- A virality score from 0 to 100 and a verdict: ready to post, almost there, or don't post yet.
- Your top 3 fixes, ranked by how much each one would move the score.
- A first-second test: how strong the hook is, whether people watching with the sound off can follow it, and where viewers are likely to swipe away.
- A sendability check: whether the reel gives anyone a reason to send it to a friend, and whether it asks them to.
- A reach check: other apps' watermarks and reposted footage, which keep a reel out of recommendations.
- A caption and hashtag check: whether people searching your topic can find it, and which hashtags are filler.
- Free rewrites: new hooks, on-screen text and a caption written for that exact reel.
How the checker works
- Upload the draft (MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 2 minutes) with the caption you plan to use.
- An AI model watches the whole video: the frames, the audio, the text on screen and the caption. It judges them against the signals Instagram ranks Reels on.
- You get the score and the fixes, usually in 30–60 seconds. Your video is deleted from GroReel's servers as soon as the check finishes.

What it checks, and why
| Signal | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| First 3 seconds | People decide whether to keep watching almost at once, often with the sound off. Hooks that work |
| Watch time and drop-off | Instagram's head has named watch time as a top ranking signal. How the algorithm picks reels |
| Sends | Sends matter most for reaching people who don't follow you yet. Going viral without followers |
| Originality and watermarks | Reposted footage and other apps' logos keep reels out of recommendations. Why reels get no views |
| Caption and hashtags | Instagram search and Google both read captions, and only a handful of hashtags count. Captions people can find |
Reel virality checker, viral reel finder, reel analyzer: what's the difference?
Search for "reel virality check" and you'll find three different kinds of tool under similar names. They answer different questions.
| Tool | What it looks at | When you use it | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Viral reel finder | Other accounts' reels that already went viral | When you're looking for ideas | A list of reels and formats to learn from |
| Reel analyzer | Your reel's numbers (views, likes, saves) after it's live | After you post | A grade for how it did |
| Reel virality checker (GroReel) | Your draft video, frame by frame, with its caption | Before you post | A score and the exact fixes to make first |
They work well together: find a format that's working, film your own version, then check it before you post. Only the checker can catch a weak hook while you can still reshoot it.
What the score means
- Under 45: don't post yet. Something basic is costing you, usually the first second. Fix #1 says what.
- 45–64: almost there. One or two changes, like text on screen or a tighter middle, usually lift it over the bar.
- 65 and up: worth posting. Everything you control is in good shape.

What it can't do
- It can't promise a reel will go viral. Timing, your audience and luck play a part. It makes sure the things you control aren't what holds the reel back.
- The score is an estimate. GroReel asks creators how their reels actually did, to keep improving it.
- It's tuned for Instagram Reels. Most of the advice carries over to TikTok and YouTube Shorts, but the scores are calibrated for Instagram.
Questions people ask
What is a reel virality checker?
A reel virality checker scores a reel before you post it. GroReel's watches the draft video itself, frames, audio, on-screen text and caption, and gives a 0–100 virality score, a verdict and the fixes that would move the score most.
Is the reel virality checker free?
Your first check is free, with no card needed. After that, packs start at ₹199 for 10 checks, or ₹39 for a single check, in India. Everywhere else they start at $9 for 10 checks, or $1.99 for one, tax included. One credit is one check, and credits never expire.
Can it tell me if my reel will go viral?
It can't guarantee it, because timing, your audience and luck also matter. It tells you whether the parts you control, like the hook, length, sends and caption, are strong enough, and exactly what to fix if they aren't.
Do I have to post the reel first?
No. That's the point: you upload the draft before you post, so you can fix the hook or caption while it still counts.
What happens to the video I upload?
It's deleted from GroReel's servers as soon as the check finishes. The score and suggestions are kept so you can look back at them.
How is it different from a viral reel finder?
A viral reel finder shows you other accounts' reels that already went viral, which is useful for ideas. A reel virality checker looks at your own unposted draft and tells you what to fix before it goes live.
Does it work for TikTok and YouTube Shorts?
It's built and calibrated for Instagram Reels. Most of its advice, such as a stronger first second, text for sound-off viewers and one clear ask, applies to TikTok and Shorts too.
